Intro to Herbalism Tier 2
An introductory workshop for Queer and Trans people interested in herbalism. We will meet in Prospect Park, touch on the history and source of this knowledge, and do a deep dive into some medicinal plants common in NYC. My approach involves slowly building relationships to the more than human world, and getting to know a few plants at a time. Knowing a handful of plants intimately is a great start to a home apothecary. This workshop requires walking on uneven terrain, sitting on the ground, and standing. Please bring a journal or unlined paper, pens, pencils and other drawing materials, a cup that can hold hot water, and something to sit on if you don't want to sit in the dirt. In any space I facilitate, racism, ableism, sanism, transphobia, xenophobia, classism, and all other systems of hierarchy and hate will not be tolerated. There will be 2 free spots for BIPOC, 5 spots on the first tier, 10 spots on the second tier, and 5 spots on the third tier. I understand that this course is inaccessible to some, and will have other workshops available that meet different accessibility needs. MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THIS CLASS.
