Herbs For Mental Health
This 4 week series will be part workshop and part support space. Every week we will sit with a new medicinal plant and learn about the ways in which the plant of the week can aid us in supporting our mental health. Herbs are not one size fits all, and we will learn some introductory herbalism to understand how to work with medicinal plants. In addition, each week there will be a discussion topic related to the herb of the week, and group support space consisting of somatic exercises, group discussion, grounding exercises, and journal prompts to take home.
For example, one week we will work with anxiolytic nervines, which have the ability to decrease anxiety and calm the central and autonomic nervous systems. We will discuss specific indications, and how to know when to reach for these specific plant allies. The support space that week will center experiences of and ways of working with anxiety. Each participant will be given herbs to take home, with the hopes of using them daily and tracking their effects and influence. We will take herbs as an infusion (tea) and there will not be any alcohol extractions to accommodate people who do not ingest alcohol.
This group will take place in person in prospect park on Monday evenings. The exact time will be decided based on the needs of participants. This space is welcome to queer and trans folks, and is explicitly anti-racist, anti-carceral, and anti-zionist. Covid testing is required each week in order to attend. (If you need tests, let me know and I can provide them).

A Virtual Support Group for ADHD, AuDHD, & Autistic Queer and Trans Folks
This virtual support group is for anyone who identifies as queer and neurodivergent. An official diagnosis is not required. Queerness and neurodivergence have a lot of overlap, and many of us who attend a support space geared towards only one of these identities end up feeling unseen or like we still do not belong.
Most of the commonly accepted knowledge on neurodivergence is built upon a stereotypical presentation of cis het white men, and fails to encompass our lived realities. Many of us have been excluded or bullied, have built up our masks so well that we have trouble knowing who we are, or are exhausted by performing.
Neurodiversity, like biodiversity, builds a stronger web of life and is essential for the health and survival of human beings. It can be challenging to be neurodivergent in a world that was built for neurotypical people, but that doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with us. Finding people like us, building community, affinity, and intimacy can be life-changing, affirming, and incredibly powerful.
Together, we will discuss things like sensory overwhelm, rejection sensitivity, demand avoidance, special interests, time-blindness, socializing and making friends, masking, burnout, coping skills and tips, body doubling, relationships, dating, sexuality, and any other topic the group wants to discuss.
This group will take place virtually on Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30pm ET from July 15th through September 2nd. Calls will take place over zoom, with captions, and will be conducted in English. Sessions are sliding scale, $35-$85 per week, with limited reduced fee spots available for folks who cannot attend otherwise, prioritizing QTBIPOC.

COME TOGETHER
a long covid support group
join in queer long covid community for mutual support, skill & infosharing, and relationship weaving! Our second cohort will start summer 2025!
we come together to share skills and information on navigating long covid. over the course of two months, we will gather to process our experiences, share what we have learned, try new things, and be together. we will talk herbs, food, emotional support practices, embodiment practices, creativity, grief & rage, structural shifts, lists and other logistical supports, surviving under capitalism and more.
come with your feelings and your bodies truth. come with your lived experience. come to hear the experiences of others. come to share what you know about your own wise body, and come ready to learn from the wisdom of others. come to find similarities and resonance, differences in individual experiences, and mutual respect throughout.
let this group be an anchor. let the group support you in these times of intense stress. let the knowing that you are not alone in this tend some of the rough edges. long covid is intense on its own; add in a govt supported culture of covid denial and it becomes even more fraught. we come together to remember that we don’t have to do it all alone; we support each other reciprocally when gathering around shared emotional experiences. let yourself be nourished as you also contribute to a wider web of community nourishment.
come as you are.
you are welcome here.
we are in this together.
